Keeping America's Edge
Seriously. Not only does it dovetail with (as well as contradict) some of the thoughts I've been having recently about America's place in the world over the past sixty-five years, it also paints a very lucid picture of what's currently happening in our politics and economy, where it's headed, and what we ought to do now and in the future.
For those of you looking for a rabidly conservative or liberal viewpoint, you'll be disappointed. For those who don't like economics, well, this may not be your thing, but if you read it carefully, you'll be better off for it. =)

That was quite an article. Clearly the author had put a lot of thought into it. I agreed on several points, and do think the government needs to get out of the business of running a car company for instance.
The author never really addressed what to do with the economically, educationally and socially disadvantaged other than to say that the problem/their problems will continue to exist. It also made no mention of environmental responsibility. Hmmm. . . I'm not sure that can safely be left out of the discussion. Furthermore he mentioned getting the southern border under control, but no one seems to be proposing a successful way to do that. Then there is the issue of the leaky northern border too. . . Here is random thought: we need more mentors for kids in that single parent category.
